From Office to Chiropractic Clinic

A former office at Dittons Business Park is now a welcoming home for Bodycare Chiropractic. We reshaped the space to suit how a modern clinic works, with two private consulting rooms, a reworked reception and a clean, calm finish throughout.

The Brief

Bodycare Chiropractic needed a former office turned into a working clinic, with private consulting space, a welcoming reception and a layout that suits patients and practitioners alike. We took the space from strip-out through to the finished, decorated rooms over a six-week programme.

Clearing And Preparing

We started by stripping out the old carpet tiles, three doorways and frames, and redundant electrical items, then prepared the space for the new layout.

Two New Consulting Rooms

The heart of the project was two new consulting rooms. We built these with timber frame partitions, filled with acoustic insulation and clad both sides with sound block plasterboard, then finished with a skim coat of plaster. Each room gained a new doorway to match the existing doors as closely as possible. We added an extra layer of sound block plasterboard to the wall between reception and the first consulting room, giving patients privacy and quiet during appointments.

Reshaping The Layout

To make the space flow, we blocked up three old doorways with timber studwork, insulation and plasterboard, and formed three new openings into the reception, kitchen and WC by adjusting the non-loadbearing stud walls and reusing the existing door frames and sets. New skirting throughout matches the original as closely as possible.

Services And Finishing

Each new consulting room has a wash hand basin, vanity unit, tap and its own hot water heater. We extended the cold water feeds to the basins and ran new waste pipework along the exterior wall to the WC outlet, with neat boxing in to conceal the pipe runs. Electrical work covered task lighting, background lighting, power and emergency lighting to the altered areas. We finished with full redecoration to the reception, new corridor, kitchen, WC and both consulting rooms.

The Finished Result

The old office is now a calm, professional clinic that works for Bodycare and their patients. Private rooms, a clear layout and a clean finish give the practice a space to grow into.
