A Bright New Home for Colbran & Wingrove
We've given ourselves a new home, and we couldn't be happier with it. Our own premises in Willingdon have gone from a dated, closed-in interior to a bright and open workspace, ready for the next chapter of Colbran & Wingrove.
The Brief
The starting point was a tired commercial interior. Low ceilings, an enclosed stairway and heavy partitions kept the light out and the rooms feeling separate. We set out to open the space up, bring in natural light and create a calm, modern place to work.
Opening Up The Space
The enclosed stairway was the first thing to change. We opened it up with a seamless glass balustrade, installed by Bay Joinery, so natural light now flows between floors and the building feels connected from top to bottom.
To carry that openness through, we worked with Glass Divide Ltd to install single-glazed frameless partitions and doorsets. These keep clear sightlines across the office while still giving each area its own defined working zone.
The Finishing Touches
New windows by Teamframes brought in more daylight. A Howdens Frome Sandstone kitchen with a quartzite marble worktop gives the team a proper space to gather. Lano commercial carpet and Polyflor vinyl flooring, laid by Vertex Flooring, run through the workspace, and the Prestige suspended ceiling tiles improve the acoustics for calmer, more focused working.
The Finished Result
The building is brighter, cleaner and far more open than where we started. It's a modern workspace that suits how we work day to day, and a fitting new base for the team.
