Well done, Ben
Ben has earned his NOCN Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Construction), Site Carpentry, less than a year after joining Colbran & Wingrove as an apprentice.
He came to us in October with a real eagerness to learn. Since then he has worked across most areas of the trade on live building projects, developing his craft alongside colleagues who have spent years perfecting their own. An NVQ Level 3 qualification is awarded exactly this way, on the tools and on site. It is assessed on the quality of real work, and it is nationally recognised and Ofqual regulated. NVQ Level 3 is the advanced standard, a step above the NVQ Level 2 that qualifies a working carpenter, so reaching it this early in his career says a lot about Ben.
His enthusiasm and dedication show in everything he takes on, and in a short space of time he has become a valued member of the team.
Building the next generation of trades
We have been building in Eastbourne since 1967, and skilled carpenters have always been at the heart of that. Taking on apprentices like Ben and backing them all the way to an NVQ Level 3 qualification is how those skills carry forward. It is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
