Ready to Run on the Cuckoo Trail

Russell and Judy joined an amazing group of runners, walkers and supporters to take part in the Children with Cancer Fund Run to Run 2025.

Pictured on the Cuckoo Trail ready for this year’s run which drew 158 entrants.

The annual run is an important fundraiser in the local charity’s calendar and took place on Saturday 31 May this year.

It drew 158 participants who chose to take part in a mini mile, 5k or 10k course along the Cuckoo Trail. So far more than £4,000 has been raised, with more sponsorship yet to come in.

Councillor Stephen Shing, the Deputy Mayor of Polegate, started the event and presented medals to everyone who completed their chosen course. A Rapid Relief Team provided snacks and drinks for the runners and walkers, whilst Chaffin Works marshalled the route and provided first aiders. Together with the charity’s amazing volunteers, they put on a fantastic event which was wonderful to be part of.
