Residential Project: Renovating An Arts and Crafts Home
Homeowners Garry and Monique took a sensitive approach to the renovation of their Arts and Crafts home in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

- The couple wanted to make a number of changes to improve the interior and give it a contemporary feel, yet at the same time retain the spirit and style of this great era which celebrated original craftsmanship.
- Through careful planning and discussion the Colbran & Wingrove team were able to provide solutions to several structural issues and agree specific finishes and detailing to compliment the original features of the property.
- This enabled the sympathetic development of a new, enlarged kitchen and a family / living space which opens onto the garden, plus an en-suite on the first floor.
- The main bathroom and a further shower room were also refitted and the property was redecorated throughout once all the services were updated, including the plumbing and electrics.
- Stunning hardwood floors were carefully sanded and sealed to restore their former beauty and the property’s windows were renewed as part of a programme of external repairs.
- The garden wasn’t forgotten either and has provided the perfect setting for an Arbour, created by our carpenters to Garry and Monique’s specifications.
- Garry and Monique, who were recommended to Colbran & Wingrove, are justifiably pleased with the outcome and their vision for their beautiful home.
- Our skilled team carried out all the structural and alteration works, carpentry and decorating and we worked closely with approved supply chain sub-contractors to carry out the complete re-wire and plumbing installation works. Bexhill Electrical and Steve Garner Heating and Plumbing provided a design and installation service for the specialist trades.
