Colin's 24hr Cycle for Cancer Charity
30 July 2018
Our super carpenter, Colin, who is also the longest-serving member of our team, has just completed a 24hr cycle to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
He was joined by Andrew Sherwood who shared a tandem with Colin, and Martin Tonks, director of Colbran & Wingrove.
Colin sadly lost his wife Frances to pancreatic cancer last year, just three months after her diagnosis, and was determined to accomplish a challenge to raise funds in her memory.
Despite nearly 10,000 new diagnoses of pancreatic cancer in the UK every year, it is underfunded compared to several other types of cancer.
Just 3% of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive 5 years or more, a statistic that has barely changed in 30 years.
So far Colin and team have raised over £650 as a result of their cycle. They are still fundraising and donations can be made online at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sonia-comfort1
